Welcome
to Curtain Calls Remind Updates!

Here you will find all of our Remind messages, and informational emails, just in case you missed one!

Happy Thursday!

We have finished our third week of Curtain Call! All we have left is to prepare for our performances next week, where Curtain Callers will get to show you all of the hard work they’ve put into the show this year.

We will have one more theme day this year, next Thursday. We encourage the kids to dress up, but be sure to continue wearing proper footwear (sneakers for dancing)!

  • Thursday, 7/23, will be Color Day (each kid should wear their group color).

We will also be performing at Peppermint Days on Saturday, July 18th! All Curtain Callers are welcome to come and participate. We will be performing at 10:00 AM in front of the courthouse in Lyons. Call time will be 9:30 to set up! We will meet in the parking lot to the left of the courthouse.  All Curtain Callers must arrive with a parent/guardian. Upon arrival, please find a member of the instructional staff or your group apprentice. We are doing this to ensure the safety of all of our kiddos here at Curtain Call! After the performance, students will return to the arrival location to be picked up by their parent/guardian.

  • Attire: Campers are encouraged to wear past Curtain Call shirts if they have them, or plain colored shirts that match their group color if they don’t.

We will be having our performances on Wednesday, 7/22, and Thursday, 7/23 @ 7:00 PM in the Lyons High School auditorium. Students should arrive ready to warm up by 6:30 PM on both nights. Each student is allowed two (2) complimentary tickets. These tickets may be used on either night and can be split up between both nights. Complimentary tickets can be obtained only by submitting our Complimentary Ticket Form (can be found on our website). If this form isn’t filled out, the students won’t receive their tickets. If you would like to receive more than two tickets, adult tickets can be purchased for $5, and student and senior citizen tickets for $3. Please turn in the ticket payment in a clearly labeled envelope with the ticket form. Checks are made payable to Curtain Call. All ticket orders, Complimentary and Extra (paid) tickets, MUST be submitted by Monday, July 20th, by 12:30 PM. Any submissions/orders after that time will not be accepted and will be returned to you. Unsold tickets (if any) will be available at the door on the evenings of the performances.

Students will receive their t-shirts and tickets at the end of camp on Tuesday, 7/21, so that they have them in time for the performances!

Happy Thursday!

We are finishing our second week of Curtain Call…  which means we are about halfway done! By the end of Week 3, Curtain Callers will have learned all the material for the upcoming performance! We are so thrilled to be back in the swing of Curtain Call and to be making music again!

Theme Days

We will be having theme days each Thursday this year. We encourage the kids to dress up, but to be sure to continue to wear proper footwear (sneakers to dance in), and keep accessories to a minimum as they can be distracting during classes. The theme days will be:

  • Next Thursday, 7/16 will be Show Shirt Day (if your child doesn’t have a show shirt, they can use a camp shirt, a past Curtain Call shirt, or any other event shirt).

  • The last Thursday, 7/23 will be Color Day (each student should wear the color of their group).

Ticket Reminder

We will be having our performances on Wednesday, July 22nd, and Thursday, July 23rd at 7:00 PM in the Lyons High School auditorium. We will be giving each student two (2) complimentary tickets. These tickets may be used on either night, and can be split up between nights. If you would like to receive more than two tickets, adult tickets can be purchased for $5, and student and senior citizen tickets for $3. Please turn in ticket payment in a clearly labeled envelope with the ticket form. Checks are made payable to Curtain Call.

Every student can receive 2 complimentary tickets to the performances. Complimentary tickets can only be obtained by filling out the online form, which you can access by clicking on the link here: Complimentary Ticket Form. You must fill out this ticket form to receive your complimentary tickets.  These tickets can be split up between both performances or used for the same one. You must return your ticket form to receive your additional tickets. If you have not received a form yet, you can find a copy on our website or contact the office for an extra copy. Ticket forms must be returned by Monday, 7/20. No online/email requests for paid tickets will be accepted. Unsold tickets (if any) will be available at the door on the evenings of the performances. Both ticket forms can be found under Ticket Info on our website.

Tickets will be distributed to the students to bring home Tuesday 7/21.

Peppermint Days Performance

We are excited to announce that our Curtain Call students will be performing at Peppermint Days next Saturday, July 18th! The performance will begin at 10:00 AM in the Village Square. We will meet at 9:30 AM in the parking lot to the left of the courthouse to get everyone organized and ready. The performance will last no more than 30 minutes.

What to wear:

  • Curtain Call shirt (if your child has one)

    • OR a plain colored t-shirt in the color of their group

  • Comfortable shoes for dancing and moving (sneakers!)

Please make sure your child arrives on time so we can line up and prepare for a wonderful show. We’re so proud of the hard work your children have put into their songs and dances and can’t wait to share their talents with the community!

General Reminders:

  • Students should bring a labeled water bottle to Curtain Call. It’s the summer, and they are putting in so much effort to put this show together. It’s incredibly important to stay hydrated!

    • Due to school policy, drinks other than water are not allowed in the auditorium and gym spaces we use every day. If a student arrives with another drink, they will be asked to finish it before entering the auditorium for the day. We appreciate your cooperation in making sure we are respecting and keeping the spaces we are using clean!

  • Students should be wearing sneakers to Curtain Call. Sandals, Crocs, and other shoes are not suitable for dancing.

  • Curtain Call starts at 8:30 each morning. We’ve had many students coming in at or a little after 8:30, so we just wanted to send a reminder to make sure they’re getting here on time! Perhaps, plan to arrive by 8:25!!!

- Curtain Call

Hello everyone!

Week one of Curtain Call is officially completed! We are coming a long way and cannot wait to showcase all of our hard work at the performances in a couple of weeks! Our theme this year is Colors! With our elective courses starting next week, it will be so much fun to offer opportunities for camper growth outside of the dance, drama, and voice class areas! These include introductions to mindfulness, art, choreography, marketing and social media, ukulele, and much more!

Lastly, we just have a list of reminders as we approach next week:

  • Payment: All payment was due this week, however, if you still have not paid, we need your dues immediately. We will be contacting you by Tuesday of next week if we have not yet received payment from you.

  • Hygiene: Please ensure that your child is practicing good hygiene, including using deodorant. It gets warm and humid in some of our practice spaces, so this is important!

  • What NOT to bring? Please keep Needohs, squishy toys, fidgets, etc. at home.

  • What to bring?: As a reminder, please have your student bring a water bottle each day to stay hydrated, as we are often active throughout our time together. We also ask that students wear sneakers or comfortable closed-toe shoes since we move around a lot during activities. Finally, please send your student with a snack for snack time so they can stay energized and focused throughout the day.

    • Water: Please remember to send your child to camp each day with a labeled water bottle only. It is VERY important to stay hydrated while we are singing and dancing, even more so with the high temperatures we’ve been having.

    • If your child is dropped off with a coffee, fruity drink, or other beverages, we kindly ask that they finish it before entering the auditorium in the morning. We are not allowed to have drinks besides water in the Auditorium or Gym per school rules. This helps us prevent spills, protect equipment, and keep everyone focused and ready to start the day!

    • Thank you for your cooperation in helping us keep the rehearsal space safe, clean, and distraction-free for all campers!

  • Theme Day Thursdays

    • Week 2 - Tropical: Soak up the sun with your best tropical gear!

    • Week 3 - Show Shirts: Wear your favorite shirt from a show you’ve seen or performed in!

    • Week 4 - Color Wars: Represent your team by wearing your group color! These will be assigned week 2.

    • For weeks 2 and 3 theme days, please keep accessories limited/to a minimum. We will still be learning our dances and accessories can be distracting, limiting, or hazardous while doing so.

  • Tickets: Our performances this year are taking place on Wednesday, July 22nd, and Thursday, July 23rd at 7:00 PM in the Lyons MS/HS Auditorium. We will be giving each student two (2) complimentary tickets. These tickets may be used on one night, or split up between the two nights. Keep in mind that two is the total number of complimentary tickets that each student will receive – NOT two per night. Below is the link to secure your complimentary tickets. This will be due by the end of week 3 (Thursday, July 16th).

  • Please be sure to routinely check your email for updates and additional ticket information. Monday, July 6th we will be sending a paper ticket form to purchase additional tickets for our shows! The deadline for these paid tickets will be Monday, July 20th.

    • There is not an online form for paid tickets so it is easier to collect payment for these.

    • Complimentary Tickets will be accounted for first. Additional paid tickets will be distributed on a “first come first serve” basis. We recommend sending back the additional paid ticket form with payment ASAP, and can accept them no later than the end of the day on Monday, July 20th. Any tickets remaining after that (if any) will be available for purchase at the door.

  • Reminders: All emails and communications that are sent home to parents will be sent through our email, uploaded to our website under the Remind Updates tab, and a paper copy will be given to each student.

Thank you all for your support and, as always, reach out if you have any additional questions/concerns. Have a great long weekend!

From,

The Curtain Call Staff
